Lath work is the constructive element that supports tiles and ensures their correct positioning on the roof structure. Lath work spacing (also known as gauge) is the distance between laths and should be indicated by the tile maker for each tile type. Lath work spacing for the Torrense Lusa tiles can be consulted under its technical specifications.

Upon reception of the material to apply in the construction, lath work spacing testing should be conducted in accordance with the following procedures:

1st Step

Take 12 roof tiles and fit them upside down on a flat surface so that they are as close as possible to each other. Measure the distance (in centimetres) between the second and twelfth tiles – MEASURE A.

2nd Step

Move the tiles as far apart as possible and repeat the measurement of the distance between the second and twelfth tiles – MEASURE B.

Lath work is calculated using the following formula: (Measure A + Measure B) / 20
